I am so happy to announce the schedule for the 2022 Master Gardener Training in Madison County!
This year, training will ONLY be held in the Spring. There will be no sessions offered in the Fall of 2022. Class sessions will be delivered in-person, and alternative plans are in place in case of a sudden need to meet virtually. Please make sure that ALL of the training sessions are marked on your calendar as in person attendance will be expected.
The registration fee is $150 and includes everything you will need to complete the course successfully. Financial assistance is available upon request. Registration ends January 5th.
Please be sure to READ the introductory information at the beginning of the Online Interest form to ensure that you understand the class requirements. If you have any questions, please contact Celeste Scott, UT Extension Agent, at email@example.com .
Instructions for Registering:
The Schedule for classes in 2022 have not been finalized. Check back in January for updates!
Classes are FREE and OPEN to the public. Any gardener (old or new) is sure to find something that sparks their interest with this series' wide range of topics.
TEMG's have the opportunity to participate in educational training sessions that connect local Master Gardener associations across the state with each other. We will virtually tour demonstration plots, service projects, and even cross state lines and glimpse into other Extension Master Gardener programs from across the Nation. These sessions are offered every other month on the fourth Friday of that month at 10am. These sessions are open to certified TEMGs only, and will equip TEMGs with new ideas and connections!
Stay tuned for dates and meeting links for the 2022 sessions
Note from MCMG Coordinator, Celeste Scott
Hey Master Gardeners,
It is that time of year again when I ask you all to provide me with honest feedback concerning Horticulture Programs from the current year. I ask that EVERYONE (no matter how active/inactive) take 5-7 minutes to answer these 10 questions for me. I can not impress upon you how important it is that we get as many responses as possible. This information is used to PROVE the value of Extension programs in our county (including the TEMG Program). I also use these responses to guide my planning for NEXT year. I want to know your thoughts and suggestions.
This survey is open to ALL who have participated in any type of horticulture related education provided by Madison County Extension.
This includes but is not limited to: Website Use, Gardeners Toolshed Classes, Master Gardener Programs/Meetings/Classes, Facebook LIVE sessions, Zoom Classes, In-person classes/workshops, Plant Sales, Community Events, ect…..
Instructions for First Time Users who need to REGISTER. All others disregard.

MCMGs are honored to announce that Ms. Nicole McRae, of Jackson, TN, is the recipient of this year’s scholarship in the amount of $2,500. Nicole is a graduate of South Side High School. During her high school career, Nicole has excelled academically, taken part in numerous horticulture classes, held active leadership roles in South Side FFA, and maintained employment at Carter’s Nursery here in Jackson.
Nicole plans to attend Jackson State and complete her bachelor’s degree in agriculture at UT Martin. She hopes that one day her work in agriculture will make a difference in the lives of others. Please help us to recognize and congratulate Ms. McRae in this accomplishment.
