Welcome!
The Madison County Master Gardeners are community volunteers who support and engage in projects and activities that will enhance the quality of life for Madison County residents.
What Do Master Gardeners Do?
Master Gardeners are volunteers who love to garden and help others. We complete a Master Gardener Training Program, which is presented by our sponsor, the University of Tennessee Extension Service. Training sessions are held every year in the Fall. Our volunteers donate at least 25 hours a year on Official Master Gardener Projects that enhance the agricultural beauty and quality of living in Madison County. We also complete at least 8 hours of Continuing Education annually.
How to Get Involved...
If you are interested in becoming a Tennessee Master Gardener, please call or email Bill Wyatt, Extension Agent, at 731-668-8593. The next training session will be in the Fall. You are also welcome to attend our open Master Gardener Meetings held monthly in Jackson.
Gardening Help...
For gardening articles, tips and if you want to see what we're doing monthly, please download the latest Madison County Master Gardener Newsletter.
Part of being a Master Gardener is helping other gardeners and sharing information. We would like to be able to help you by answering any gardening questions you might have . Madison County Master Gardeners Association members hold a wealth of gardening expertise. Sorry, we do not answer garden questions from outside of West TN. Out-of-area site readers can get help from the state land grant university and Master Gardeners in their state. Some are listed on the web site The Gardening Launch Pad. Master Gardeners who live and volunteer in your state will likely have better information on your growing conditions, adapted plants, current insects, weather and other causes for your plant concerns.
